One of the sections of our Program Review contains a list of the functions (tasks) we perform. Yes, it will be lengthy. This post is to help us begin to create such a list. I thought it might be useful to divide it into: Collection Development, Circulation, Instruction, and Reference, so I'll set up a section on our blog for each area.
The next step is to ask everyone to contribute to the category/categories that applies/apply to you. If you think of a function that someone else performs it is OK to list it for them. The main thing is to try to capture what we do in the Library.
We won't worry too much about language, but nice descriptive phrases or complete sentences would be helpful.
We need to work on this quickly because the first meeting with the Research Office on our Program Review will be next week.
